Genevieve Sawtelle Photography

A special shout out to Genevieve Sawtelle Photography for her photographic genius, her mad Adobe Photoshop skills, and her tireless friendship. I could not have actualized the graphic vision of my site and blog without her help.

If you are looking for a photographer to capture your special moments with a funky and fresh aesthetic Genevieve is the one. Check out her work here:

Blue Line Bike Lab

These guys are some of the most knowledgeable and passionate bike enthusiasts I have ever met. Fred and David live, breathe, eat, sleep and sweat bikes.  This is not your typical homogenized bike shop, but there is something there for everyone. I love these guys because I love my bike and they help me keep her running. I also appreciate them because they are as deeply committed to animal rescue and education as I am. They frequently and graciously hold fundraisers for rescue groups, volunteer at area shelters, and work tirelessly to educate the public on Pit Bull Advocacy. Check them out here: for all your cycling needs, you won’t be sorry!

Best Friends Animal Society

Probably by far my favorite rescue organization. They have done amazing things for the no-kill movement and they are a preeminent source of education on pet care, rescue, animals rights and spreading the no-kill philosophy.

Check them out here:

Nathan Winograd

One of the founders of the No-kill movement, he has spoken nationally and internationally on animal sheltering issues, as written animal protection legislation at the state and national level, has created successful No Kill programs in both urban and rural communities, and has consulted with a wide range of animal protection groups including some of the largest and best known in the nation.

Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine

This is one of the best medical resources available on the web hands down.

Great local blog about anything and everything dog related! Check it out here:

Homeless Animal Partnership Initiative (HAPI)
HAPI is dedicated to the overall improvement of the quality of life for animals in Houston and the surrounding area. Its focus is to unite the community into one voice that works to improve adoptions from area shelters, to increase spay and neutering of dogs and cats, work with privately and city owned facilities to improve conditions for all animals. To educate the public on the importance of responsible pet ownership. To become a voice that keeps the city of Houston informed of what the animal rights community wants and needs. Please support this group, they are doing amazing things.
